For more than a decade, Los Al TV Studio 1 producers John Underwood and Jeffrey Whitten have proudly captured and shared inspired performances of Shakespeare by the Sea for audiences to enjoy free of charge via our YouTube channel. More recently, our recordings, along with other Shakespeare productions across the nation, have come under attack by a self proclaimed Shakespeare scholar and “translator” who temporarily forced the YouTube takedown of our recorded productions. We are happy to announce, however, that under the legal representation of the civil rights attorneys from Public Citizen (a Washington DC based law firm) we have prevailed in civil court by securing a default judgement against this would-be copyright troll who threatened the free and unfettered use of Shakespeare’s words which we have enjoyed in the public domain for the last 400 years. At this time, we are happy to reinstate some of our most memorable recordings of Shakespeare by the Sea’s park-side performances. Enjoy!
